This policy describes how we at Canntech collect, use and share information collected through or in relation to your use of (the Website), including the e-commerce platform hosted on that Website (the Webshop).

Canntech is established in the Netherlands and is responsible for the Website and Webshop, which are aimed at connecting potential customers to vendors of CBD related products in Europe. Our privacy policy is in accordance with data privacy laws, including the EU regulatory provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations (the GDPR) in case we provide our services to individuals in the EU. With this document we would like to inform you about our privacy policy and how we collect, protect, use and share information we collect about you on our Website and in our Webshop.

Account Information

We collect personal data such as your name, contact information, shipping information, and billing information (such as credit card account data) when you create an account on our Website and/or when you buy something from our Webshop. We use that information to operate our Website and Webshop and to analyze and improve Canntech’s offerings.

Legal Grounds

Canntech only processes personal data when there is a legal ground to do so. These legal grounds may be:

  • the performance of an agreement; for example, when you purchase something in our Webshop;
  • the necessity of processing for compliance with a legal obligation, for instance tax regulations;
  • in case there is a legitimate interest: for example, when the processing enables us to enhance, modify, personalize or otherwise improve our services to the benefit of the Website users. Or, to enhance the security of our services and determine if our marketing is effective;
  • based upon your consent: for example, when you subscribe to our newsletters. Every form of data collection we perform based on your consent, can be withdrawn.

We collect your personal data when you sign up for our mailing list and process this information for the purposes of the distribution of our mailing list.  If you do not wish to receive marketing materials from Canntech, then click the “unsubscribe” button on those materials.

We may use “cookies,” “web beacons,” and other similar technologies to collect information in connection with the Website. A “cookie” is a computer file that acts as an identification card for your computer to distinguish your browser from others and enable us to better serve you. For example, we use cookies to save products in your shopping cart while you browse our Website and to track the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising campaigns. Similarly, a “web beacon” is a technology that can recognize specific cookies and convey information about that browser. We do not use these technologies to collect personal data.

Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You may be able to set your browser to reject and/or delete cookies. For instructions, check your browser’s technical information. However, if you reject or delete cookies then this may disable or interfere with features on the Website or other websites you visit. We recommend that you leave cookies “turned on” so we can offer you a better experience on our site.

Usage and Device Information

We automatically collect certain device and usage information when you use the Website and/or Webshop. For example, we collect information about the devices you use to connect to our services (such as the IP address of your computer or numeric identifier of your mobile device) as well as how you use the Website (such as what time you visit our Website).

Compliance and Service Providers

We may disclose your personal data to a third party if (a) this is necessary for the conclusion or performance of an agreement or contract concluded in your interest (b) we believe that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, (c) necessary to protect the security or integrity of the Website from harm or illegal activities; (d) necessary to respond to an emergency which we believe in good faith requires us to disclose information to assist in preventing the death or serious bodily injury of any person; or (e) to any other third party with your prior written consent.

Canntech may share your data with third parties that are support companies working on behalf, and on the instructions of, Canntech. With these parties, Canntech will conclude processor agreements (if necessary) under GDPR regulations with regard to the data processing that takes place within the EU and/or in relation to EU residence. Examples of these third party companies are email service providers that process the emails from customers, payment providers that process payments, shipping partners that ship our products to the customers, etc.

Your personal data will only be issued to third parties for the purposes referred to above in this Privacy Policy and/or exclusively on the basis of the legal grounds already mentioned. We will only provide your data to authorities, other parties or supervisory bodies when we are under a legal obligation to do so.

If you use a third-party payment provider (for instance PayPal or a credit card provider), or any other third party in the context of your use of our Website or Webshop, it is possible that that third party may also qualify as a controller of the personal data you provide them with. As such, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal data will be handled by these providers, as the terms surrounding their processing of your personal data may differ from those under this privacy policy. In particular, please remember that certain providers may be located in, or have facilities that are, located in a different jurisdiction than either you or Canntech. If you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

We treat the data of our private & corporate sales partners and vendors with the same care as we treat the data of our visitors. Therefore, this privacy policy also applies to our sales partners and vendors.

When you sell on our platform as a vendor, we store the contact details you enter in your sales account (the name of your company, the name of your company’s contact person, email address, your contact address (and any other addresses), payment details and your telephone number) as well as your Chamber of Commerce number and your VAT number.

When you place an order with one of our vendors, we provide them with the information necessary to fulfill the purchase order. As a shared processor of a customer’s data, the vendor receives your name, delivery address and billing information. The vendor needs this information to perform the contract of sale which you have entered into with them.

If you request a VAT invoice from a business partner, the vendor receives your company name, business address, Chamber of Commerce number and order number.

If you ask the vendor a question via our contact information, we will also share your contact information with the vendor in question.
